Events and Messages
Events
Click on Events on the Staff Portal top menu to view all events in the school calendar. As you are a staff member, the page shows All Events even if you do not have a linked pupil account. This differs from the Parent portal which only displays events to parents with children who are taking part in the event.
For example, a parent of a pupil from Year 6 will not see Year 3 Swimming Lessons.
In the screenshot above, the Show drop down box is set to All Events. This option is not visible to parents. It enables the view all events mode.
IMPORTANT:
- Staff with children that attend Ruckleigh need to select their child's name from the show menu (or all children) to see events that their child/children are attending.
- When viewing an event, if no child has been selected in the show menu the Authorise Event and Pay buttons will NOT display.
Messages
The office sends emails to parents of individual pupils and groups such as classes, clubs and teams.
When the office sends a message to a group. The system will also notify staff by sending the same message to staff who have been assigned to that group. Class teachers are always assigned to their respective class "group" so they can receive the same messages as their pupils' parents.
The messaging system supports groups within groups so we can send messages to multiple groups at the same time.
For example: if we send to Middle School. The message will be sent to all parents of pupils in Year 3 and Year 4. Teachers from the classes in Year 3 and 4 will also be notified.
Often messages are sent to the group All School which Includes Early Years, Lower School, Middle School and Upper School and all the respective groups within.
Messages sent to All school are also sent to the group email staff@ruckeigh.co.uk
The Weekly Newsletter is sent to staff@ruckleigh.co.uk
Groups such as sports teams and Young Voices are not within the All school group
Links to Events
Messages sent to parents often contain links to the Parent Portal. When staff click on these links they will need to sign into the parent portal to view the event details.
The account for staff to use on the parent portal is staff@ruckeigh.co.uk with password staff123
Please note authorise and pay buttons will not display when the show menu is set to All Events
