Important files should be stored on Google Drive rather than directly on your computer because:

• Although the data on your laptop is encrypted, all it takes is your password to be harvested by nefarious means and the data can be instantly unlocked. If files are stored on Google Drive we can delete the data remotely if the device goes missing.
• If your PC's hard drive fails it will be almost impossible to retrieve the data. Whereas Google drive data is automatically backed up.

Google Drive can be accessed in two ways:

2. Windows File Explorer
